FAQ

To better serve you, here are some of the most commonly-asked questions, answered!

Frequently Asked Questions

If you still have questions after reading this page, please feel free to ask!

1. Is a deposit required to hold my puppy? If so, why?

a. Yes, we require a $500 deposit to hold any puppy for you. It is non-refundable unless, for some reason, I cannot provide you with a puppy. In that case, your deposit will be returned. I cannot hold a puppy for you unless you send a deposit because there are a lot of people who would give me their word, and I would never hear from them again. My main priority is finding my puppies great homes BEFORE they are 12 weeks old (5-12 weeks is a crucial age for socialization).

2. Do you offer shipping?

a. Although I try my hardest to avoid it, I DO offer shipping worldwide. U.S. shipping costs are $350 and International flights would have to be discussed. However, I do try my hardest not to have the puppies go through all of that and will drive to meet almost anyone who is willing at a rate way under the price to fly.

3. Do you offer puppies with full registration? Can I pay extra to get full registration?

a. Mostly, no. My main goal for my puppies is to place them in good family homes as a part of their new family. However, we DO have quite an impressive line and know that there are other responsible breeders out there who share the same goal as we do: Improving the breed. If we offer full registration, it is to approved, serious, experienced show/breeding homes. I put show and breeding together for a reason. We really like our dogs to be shown if they are being sold on full registration. We are thriving to preserve the lines we have, as we feel strongly that we have dogs from some of the best lines in Europe. Our dogs come from TOP kennels in Europe who have been working hard for years under the strict rules of the KC. We feel that their hard work has paid off with these gorgeous, loving, friendly, and sweet dogs that are products of their efforts. We are not being rude if we deny you full registration, just careful in preserving the hard work of ourselves and the excellent kennels our dogs came from.

4. I'm worried about health...what precautions do you take, what certifications do you have, and what guarantees do you give?

a. When you adopt a Gold Standard puppy, health issues should be the furthest thing from your mind. We take all of the necessary steps to making sure our dogs are all healthy before breeding. They have their hips, elbows, eyes and heart checked beforehand and are vaccinated, wormed, and de-fleaed on a regular basis. Each puppy visits our licensed veterinarian at 6 weeks of age for a thorough, full-body health test and certification. We also offer a 2-year guarantee on hips, elbows, eyes, and heart.

Not only do we do all of the health tests and guarantee the health, but you can also rest assured knowing that our dogs come from directly imported lines. The KC is far more strict than the AKC in many ways, which has resulted in the healthy, long-lived ancestors of our puppies. English Goldens have HALF of the risk for cancer and other genetic diseases than American Goldens. This, too, is a result of the KC's standards.

5. When can I pick my puppy up?

a. None of our puppies will leave our home until they are at least 8 weeks of age.

6. What is the full price of one puppy? Do you offer multiple discounts?

a. $2500 or 2 for $4500...we do not offer discounts for more than 2 because we do not think that more than 2 puppies would receive the proper care and attention they need. Even 2 puppies is a lot of responsibility and we would probably only sell 2 to a home with someone there most of the day to take care of them.

7. Can I come to visit your dogs/puppies?

a. We always welcome anyone who wants to visit, whether or not we have puppies at the time. We only ask that you make an appointment beforehand and do not visit any other kennels prior to your visit. When we have newborn puppies, we do not allow visitors because of the puppies' underdeveloped immune systems. We start allowing visitors when the puppies are 4 weeks old.

Beware of breeders who do not allow you to visit, even if they have "legitimate" reasons.

8. What if something happens that I cannot keep my puppy?

a. It always comes back to us no matter what the situation is. We want to know that our dogs are in the best possible homes at all times. We ALWAYS take them back and either keep them or find them a new home.

9. What if I have a lot of questions/trouble after I get my puppy?

a. We are ALWAYS here to answer any questions you have, no matter how often you have a question, and even if it's 10 years down the road. We are here to help.

We also ask that you keep in contact with us. We love to be updated with information and pictures periodically to stay informed about the well-being of each and every puppy that leaves our home.

10. Where are you located?

a. We are right outside of Shamokin, PA. We live on a farmette in the mountains of central PA (about an hour north of Harrisburg, just 15 minutes off of 81, Minersville Exit 116).

11. Do you socialize your dogs? If so, how?

a. Yes! That is one of the biggest priorities here! We strongly believe that genetics + ENVIRONMENT are what makes a GREAT puppy.

Each puppy is handled every day, several times throughout the day, from birth. They are brought into our home where they are socialized with kids, other dogs, cats, and normal household noises. They are also accustomed to horses and outdoor life, riding in a car, the veterinary office, etc. We try to put them in as many situations as we possibly can to reduce stress when they go to your home and also to help their personality as they grow and develop.

We use the Rule of 7 Socialization method (the puppies are in 7 different places, 7 different surfaces, play with 7 different types of toys, meet 7 new people, etc. before they go to their new homes).

12. What if I go on vacation and have nowhere to keep my new puppy?

a. We offer free board for the lifetime of your puppy on a short-term basis. We only ask that you pay for food/board ($15 per day) if you need it for longer than a week. The first week is always free, though.
